01. Customer Inquiry Submission

Customers may submit inquiries through four channels: telephone, fax, email, or online chat tools. To ensure accurate quotation, customers must provide the following information: length, width, height of the blister product, thickness (or gram weight) of the material, color, and material type (PVC, PET, PS, PP), as well as the quantity and production lead time.
02. Quotation from Business Department

The unit price of blister products is determined by multiple factors: dimensions (length, width, height) and the complexity of blister molding; material type, thickness, and color; post-processing techniques (hemmed edges, punching, edge sealing, etc.); order quantity; and delivery cycle. Quotation specialists will provide an initial quote based on the customer’s samples and descriptions, with the final quotation confirmed after sample production.
03. Computer-Aided Design

Once the customer approves the initial quotation, they will submit detailed requirements, physical samples, or blister prototypes to the business department. The production scheduler will then instruct the computer design team to scan the physical samples and create a 2D design drawing of the blister product, integrating print design requirements.
04. Computer-Aided Design

After the customer approves the computer design draft, the production scheduler will decide on the mold development method (plaster mold, copper mold, or aluminum mold) based on product complexity, with a development cycle of 3–5 days. Plaster mold sampling is the most common approach, involving the following steps:
• Hand-sculpt the molding outline with modeling clay based on the physical sample.
• Form the blister shell blank using a blister sampling machine.
• Pour specialized blister plaster into the blank and allow it to air-dry, creating a plaster blank.
• Use an electric milling machine for deep processing of the plaster blank and regular shapes.
• Hand-polish and add components manually.
• Bond the polished plaster components into a complete plaster mold.
• Place the mold in the blister sampling machine to form the complete sample.
• Manually trim and seal the edges according to the finished product dimensions to complete the sampling process. If required, the print sampling department will simultaneously produce the corresponding paper cards, self-adhesive labels, or color boxes, using a full-format digital printing sampler to reflect the actual printing results.
05. Production Mold Fabrication

Once the sample is approved, the customer typically places a production order. The production scheduler will determine the mold type (plaster, electroplated copper, or aluminum) based on output volume and molding complexity:

• Plaster Mold: The fabrication process is similar to blister sampling, offering short production cycles and low costs (a full-size mold (60×110cm) can be made in 1–2 days). However, it produces rough-surfaced blister products, is prone to cracking, and is unsuitable for deep, complex, or thick-sheet products.
• Electroplated Copper Mold: The process involves spraying a conductive agent on the sampled blister shell, electroplating a thick copper layer (72-hour process), then filling with plaster (for hardness), polishing, and drilling air holes. Advantages include smooth product surfaces, moderate cost, and durability, but mold fabrication takes longer and cannot produce precision blister products.
• Aluminum Mold: Fabrication starts with computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, followed by CNC milling. Benefits include moderate lead time, minimal post-processing (air holes are drilled during CNC machining), high-dimensional accuracy, and strong durability, but costs are higher.

Since the forming range of a fully automatic high-speed blister machine is approximately 66×110cm, individual molds (regardless of material) must be assembled into a full-size mold plate (called a "bottom mold") on pre-drilled aluminum or wooden boards. For products with deep blistering, an upper mold is required to apply pressure from above during vacuum forming, ensuring uniform sheet stretching and preventing local thinning. The entire production mold fabrication cycle takes 5–7 days.
06. Blister Molding Production

Fully automatic high-speed blister molding machines operate on the following principle: Coiled sheet materials are fed into an electric oven to heat and soften, then pulled over the mold. The mold rises, vacuum pressure draws the softened sheet onto the mold surface, and cooling water is sprayed as a mist to harden the sheet. The formed sheet is pulled to a storage bin, where a pneumatic cutter separates the forming and non-forming parts. Common quality issues during this stage include:
• Incomplete Blistering: Deformation where the product fails to match the mold shape.
• Over-Blistering: Excessively thin products.
• Streaking: Unwanted lines on the product surface.
Thickness Inconsistency.
These issues are addressed through pre-production debugging, including adjusting sheet feeding time, heating temperature and duration, vacuum pressure and time, upper mold position/depth/time, mold arrangement on the plate, and accessories between molds.
07. Blister Molding Production

Large-format blister products must be cut into individual units using a punching machine and a die plate. The process involves placing the formed sheet on a plastic cutting board, positioning the die over the product, and using the punching machine’s vertical motion to cut out individual products. However, this method may damage the cutting board and die, resulting in rough, burr-prone edges. For high-quality blister shells, cold punching molds (male and female dies) and cold punching machines are used to ensure smooth edges.
